The transformation
What actually changes, and how
Six things happen in this work. None of them is advice. You get to see your situation from a different angle, with someone alongside you who is not invested in the answer you already have.
One of six
Seeing it differently
You get to look at your life from a different position, and you are not doing it alone. The options get examined with less stress and less anxiety attached to them.
Two of six
Listening to ourselves
It is easy to tell someone what to do. That is not where the work happens. Active listening is the method, and it is what changes how clients see their own situation. Together you look at the people and events in your life through a different set of lenses, and find new ways to make things move.
Three of six
Discovering our truth
Finding out what matters to you is the first job. You start with the dream and the vision, then take steps small enough that they actually get taken.
Four of six
Shifting our perspective
Think about a situation. I ask what is important about it, then we drill down to what you value about it. What you value is what you end up building.
Five of six
Feeling safe
A space where you can say out loud what you want to create, what is possible, and, just as important, what you want to say no to. This is not self improvement. It is changing how you think, and testing what is possible.
Six of six, sharing experiences
My story is there when it is useful to yours
I was invited to speak at an intensive. Afterwards a woman came up and said I reminded her of Sara Blakely. How she got there was not clear, and it did not matter. She had found something in her own story. That is the point. When it is useful to the work, I will tell you what happened to me, and what I did about it.
What this is not
- Not advice, and not a curriculum I run you through.
- Not therapy. If that is what you need, I will say so.
- Not self improvement. The subject is your thinking, not your character.
Ready to see what is possible
Thirty minutes, complimentary, no pitch. Bring the thing you have been circling.
Margalitism
When someone’s stuck, don’t tell them what to do. Get curious.
